APRIL IS ALL ABOUT AUTHORS

Every now and then it’s good to step back from your own work and take time to acknowledge some of the wonderful books being written by your collegues and so for the month of April, my blog will be focused on introducing some outstanding authors who you may or may not have heard about. April’s All About Authors will not be the standard Q & A, but it will be a look inside the author’s head, an exploration of what inspired them to write a given book. I will feature five different authors, each accomplished in a different genre.

On April 1st, you’ll meet Jodie Brownlee, a mid-level fiction author whose books are read in schoolrooms around the world and marketed through Scholastic Books as well as Amazon.

With Southern Fiction being one of my favorite genres, I had to include novelist Alle Wells, who translates her own life experiences into novels that go beyond the surface and look at the driving force that takes people to places they never intended to go. Her novel Lame Excuses is one of the most powerful looks at the downfall of a foodaholic I have ever read. Alle will be featured starting April 5th.

On April 10th you’ll get to hear the male point of view when you meet Rodney Walther. His novel Broken Laces, has been in the Amazon top ten, and over time has continued to remain in the top 100. A seven-time award-winner, Rodney talks about father-son relationships and the role sports can play in helping both to rediscover life.

There’s more – For mystery lovers, I’ll have Leona Bodie – award-winning author of Shadow Cay. And I couldn’t possibly ignore the multitude of Romance readers, so for them, I have Jillian Dodd, an author whose first novel That Boy, skyrocketed to fame in record time.

It’s a great lineup, so be sure to stop by and visit with these authors–nothing is more fun than discovering a wonderful new author. When fans ask who my favorite author is, my answer is always the same – I don’t have a favorite author, but I do have favorite books – and most of them are the first book that I’d read by that author. And, following these terrific new authors, I’ll be sharing some thoughts on my favorite books and explaining what it is I love about them.

Y’all hurry back now.

    Hi Bette,
Marie gave me Stephen King’s novel 11/22/63 for our anniversay. As you may know he is a Maine writer and his tales are full of suspense and downright horror. It is 849 pages and ‘ve only reached 153, but have enjoyed very much so far. I think a movie is in the making but I have not seen it advertised yet.
All the Very Best to You and Dick,

    Bruce & Marie
